COTUS
i am new to this forum, like many i have lurked and read a lot in an attempt to gather info and make decisions. i just ordered a f250 cc XLT premium 6.7 blue jeans /camel. i no its early in the process but i mentioned COTUS to my dealer and he had no idea what it was. should i be concerned

I'm in the same boat as 41hat. Ordered an F250 Lariat CC 6.2 on June 5th. Asked the salesman yesterday if he has a VIN or other info yet. He said no.
Is COTUS a website I would go to once I have it? Perspiring minds want to know. Thanks!

Only 250's currently show up in COTUS. Once you have an order number and dealer code you can plug that in and once your truck is "In Processing" it should show up with minimal information. A week or so before it goes into production COTUS will update with a VIN.
I wouldn't necessarily be concerned about the salesman not knowing about COTUS. My dealer uses a 3rd party to order vehicles so they don't keep up with the order tracking tools. They just get a consolidated update sheet in the mornings from the 3rd party. Good luck and keep in mind that the factory is shutting down for summer break the first two weeks of July. Sorry to break the news to you if you didnt already know.

That is very true. My truck now shows to be in transit but awaiting shipment has a date of 6/17. So, I dont know if my truck shipped out on the 17th or just yesterday when it changed status. With that being said there was a guy on here yesterday that was upset cause his ETA was up and COTUS still showed his truck sitting at the factory. He reached out to Ford Chat and they were less than helpful and then the next morning his salesman called and told him his truck was in and being unloaded off the transport truck. COTUS has helped keep me sane as I have been able to track my truck but the inconsistencies has definitely also been very frustrating. We'll see as I have 15days to go.

It is amazing how much more my wife knew about the truck when we test drove it than the salesman. He has also worked there for some time. You'd think that if they wanted to sell these things they would know everything about the vehicle and the ordering process.

Ahhhhhh ha!
No wonder my dually never showed up in COTUS. I must of tried every single day with the same "Order not found" using either the order number (from dealer) or VIN. I gotta admit back then, it was kinda frustrating.
