It took me and a friend a day and a half (and he's a certified mechanic) to do my stinger. most of it though was because the instructions are a little fuzzy at times and the steps are out of order. I didn't pull my turbo out and everything seem to fit right into place. Alittle advice though... 1. do the transmission wiring install BEFORE putting on the new pipe assy, it's alot easier than trying to fit your hands around the tail pipe to plug the connector in. 2. cut the bolts on the heat shield just after the downpipe or they will contact the pipe and will vibrate. garunteed to drive ya nuts. wish I would have thought about that before i did mine!

good luck

i had to trim my bolts too. Kinda pissed me off but at least i did it before i installed it all the way. some times you have to learn the hard way. banks wouldnt want to tell people probably because they would buy someone else`s exhaust kit.

Yea! me too. If the down pipe had just a little more downward curve to it it would fit perfectly. I, of course, found out after the install when I parked it that night and turned off the engine, I heard the rattle with the heat shield bolts. However, I opted to not use the Banks supplied u-bolts and went with the flat stainless clamps so the removal was very easy. My biggest concern with the Banks down pipe is its close proximity with the right head. There is plenty of room in there to shift it back towards the firewall if Banks would just bend the down pipe a little differently. I got it to fit up with about 1 inch clearance between the down pipe and the head, though. But all in all the install went very smooth. I did not go with the power elbow so I can't comment on that.

Unfotunately I didn't noticed the bolts until AFTER I installed the pipes and used the supplied clamps. Think I am going to have to change the clamps and while I'm at it cut the bolts. Anyone used the power elbow? Also, after I installed my kit I had some questions. Tried to contact Jeff Morris at Banks but You think I could get anyone to return my calls? anyone else had this problem?

Well I did it today (by myself but thats another story) in about 6 hours. Nothing to tough but they should have a list of tools that your going to need. For instance with the power elbow you have to have a 12 point 8mm wrench and I only had a 6 point one. I am not very happy with the sound I think it should be alittle more. The tip shure looks good.

Banks and customer service dont care after you put down the cash for their products. I just installed my monster exhaust today after waiting three weeks. The parts were damage both times. All they could say," it was packed per UPS standards". Both times it was damage in the same place and same parts. All they were willing to offer was a tee shirt or a hat.... Oh YA. They would not let me speak to anyone higher than the customer service supervisor. Well I sent a letter and pictures.......I will keep you posted. Lets all complain to Banks!!!!!!Greater in numbers!

Back to the install. Everyting went well and we thought we would have a probem with the same bolts during the test fit. As we tighten the flat clamps, it pulled away from the bolts. Sounds great.

Next.....Gauges.

Well I have had nothing but good from Banks the sales guy knew what was going on and had answers for all my questions. I did get shorted the bracket for the power elbow but when I called they apologized and sent me a new one right away.
