I have a 76 360 engine with the Duraspark setup. What I want to know is will a points distributor fit?
I know it sounds backwards, but I'm wanting to do this for a specific reason...
I have some old what are supposed to be FE parts and the points distributor that was in the box seems to be a bit larger diameter than the hole in the intake. Either the distrubtor isn't what it's supposed to be, or the made they Duraspark units a bit smaller for some reason and it just won't work.
The points one I have says 12127 in a box with what looks like BH1D under the box. The Duraspark one I'll have to get tomorrow. It's coming up on bed time.
I went back and did some cleaning and found C7AF to the left of the box. There also appears to be a Y to the right of the box.
I found the numbers on another forum. It's supposed to be for a 67 390 engine. It's seen it's better days and since the points one is supposed to fit I may just end up buying a reman unit.
