Got my first, first hand look at the 2017's today. Beautiful truck and will most likely be getting one. Two things struck me as odd. One was that the drivers rear bench (Crew Cab) does not fold down. I did see a post here that shows how to do it but thought it weird that Ford didn't make this standard.
The other thing was that the headliner RIGHT at the windshield was VERY loose. This truck had the upper "console" that had the upfitter switches and a few other switches. It was almost like there were clips missing for the liner to be scured to the roof. The outer edges at the windshield in front of the drivers and passengers seats were pretty solid. But in the center at the windshield, you could pull the liner/console down EASILY 2-3". Anyone else notice this? I don't think I'm being overly picky when I'm about to drop $60K+ on a truck.
with a nearly flat floor why do you need the rear seat back to fold? theres minimal storage behind the seats.
nothing wrong w/ the headliner of my '17 - and I can tell you the gap between the windshield header and the headliner in my 2004 is about the same - its tighter than it looks...when stuffing wires for a radar detector, gps or dash cam in the headliner.
I do think you're being nit picky - do you hang from the headliner? its not loose (even on my platinum w/ the dbl moon roof)....the fit and finish is very nice.
The higher-spec'd trucks have fragile audio components and seat-heat wiring behind the drivers side rear bench, so it's best left alone. However, my XLT has nothing back there, so I connected a cord to the release mechanism and use the space to store my road safety kit, rain gear and boots. Very handy!
I also noticed the floppy headliner, but thought it will make it easier to hide my dash-cam cable when the time comes.

Same with my XLT. It's annoying, but not critical at the moment. It's on my short list of things to discuss with my dealer when the truck goes in for its complimentary 5K oil change.
I took a test drive in one with the floppy headliner, which I notified our salesman about. We checked another one, and it was solid. The salesman surmised that there is a clip above the headliner that needs to be fastened. It was a bit disconcerting given the cost of the truck - that made it seem very cheaply made since it bounced with road imperfections. I'm sure the dealer will be able to fix it for you.
