Okay so where do I began I have a ford f250 1999 v10 I iver heated on the way up to strawberry res so I turned the heater up rolled down the windows and pulled over and shut her down she threw up all over the side of the road so I left her there over night came back thinking it was the water pump replaced it filled her up with fresh coolant and went on my way well came back from my trip got home and just yesterday went to do some stuff in town and after driveing for about 2 hours I started to over heat.. I thought I fixed it becuse I thought the water pump was bad and it was now its changed but what do I do the upper rad hose is super hot and the lower is hot but not as hot as the upper and it is not the stat I changed that also..
Thermostat??
If you had heat, water pump likely was working. Thermostat, lets engine heat up by blocking coolant flow thru engine, but lets the heater get hot coolant.
might want to check fuel pressure (for weak pressure or clogged filter) to see if the engine is running too lean or if it has an egr valve that is sticking open. Any check engine codes?
It could be a defective new thermostat right out of the box. It could have the wrong temperature rating. They are cheap and not difficult to change.
Yup, had a bad one new out of the box as well. It's highly unlikely but does happen. Likely something blocking flow so thermostat, plugged radiator, collapsing hose, or could be a bad fan clutch.
