Hesitation, is it turbo lag or

As you can see from the post title my 250 hesitates and I am trying to dertimine if its normal or if I should take it to the dealer.
By the time the trans downshifts and what I assume is the turbo spooling up there is a lag, 2-3 seconds. This would be from normal speeds and say I need to excellerate hard.
What about the rest of you.

I have a 2017 F250 SB Platinum 6.7 diesel now with 850 miles and compared to my 2012 F150 3.5 Ecoboost I have no noticeable lag at any speed. The ecoboost was extremely noticeable. I have noticed on a couple of occasions it did seem like the transmission didn't downshift as quick as I thought it should (nothing to complain about at this point) but it drives like a dream.

I feel mine has a lag to but my last diesel was a stick shift so it's hard to compare. Pretty sure it's normal

my dad complained about something like this the other day and told me yesterday that he figured out what it was doing

when he'd hammer down on it it'd drop to 4th and already be at redline for that gear, then it'd go ahead and shift to 5th and go on down the road

said it was an easy remedy, now at whatever speed he was noticing it at he just goees 3/4 throttle and it shifts to 5th and does it's thing

Turbo powered engine naturally have a lag. The turbo has to spool up they call it before it starts developing power. You'll get used to it.

Mine has a noticeable lag. I've gotten used to it and take it into account. I can't dart across an intersection from a stop.

Seriously. I do this all the time when merging into traffic on the highway. Sometimes the gap is just a little smaller than you'd like but the truck will jump in and get up to speed WAY faster than anyone expects.
