COP P0358

Been awhile since I have had to come back to the forum,Had a new V10 Gas engine put in the Ex about three years ago and Been running like a CHAMP....UNTIL.....I'm Driving Back from Halliburton today and my Excursion starts Missing from Idle through to 80mph..Finally threw an SES Light pulled into the local Auto Parts store and they ran Diagnostic on it and stated P0358...Now I know where to start looking...Only thing is I don't know exactly which one ...What's a good process to eliminate each COP to find the culprit does the #8 at the end designate what cylinder is misfiring? ...I appreciate everyone's input

A P035x DTC indicates that there is a problem with the primary circuit of the coil. That includes the PCM's output driver and the wiring/connectors as well as the coil itself as possible suspects.

#8 is the middle one on the driver's side on a V10.

Can just replace it with a Denso coil. Also, check the connector... sometimes they don't snap into place and can wiggle themselves loose over time.

Do your circuit checks before jumping into a replacement operation (or recommendation).

Last Night when I got home ,I checked the connection on #8 Coil took the Positive cable off the battery let it sit overnight , recheck the connection on the coil again ,made sure the COP was snug down on the Spark plug ..I Reconnected the Battery cable started it up and drove 86 miles back to Halliburton with no misses or issues...I wonder if there was water down by the boot?..Hopefully its fixed ..But we will see on the drive back ...Thanks for your comments everyone..This is why I always come to this forum looking for Answers

The boot is the insulation for the secondary circuit, your DTC was for the primary circuit.

NEVER disconnect the positive cable first/only, do the NEGATIVE. Safety issue.
