I have a 1973 F-250 with a 4 speed manual transmission. Just had the engine rebuilt by a shop. All is well except the clutch is grabby. I noticed it seems worse when its warmed up Had it checked by the same shop and he sees no problem. I have Taken the flywheel cover off Inspected the clutch and don't see any oil on the clutch. I have sprayed Brake cleaner on Clutch and seems to help some for a short time but then comes back. What are my options? Replace Clutch and resurface flywheel? Try to exhaust all options before I spend the $$ on a new clutch
You mean clutch "chatter"? Sometimes it's caused by a wonky flywheel, an uneven or warped clutch disc, broken clutch disc springs, or misalignment of the input shaft. Either way, the trans has to come out.

Agree... flywheel true/re-surface is recommended with R & I of transmission and clutch. Also check/correct runnout with offset dowels. Runnout check is especially important if the block was line bored/honed and/or block and transmission/clutch housing are not factory matched.
