Opinion on shocks
I hate to start another thread but I didn't see an exact answer to my question.
I have about 43000 miles on my 2013 F150 XLT. It is leveled in the front and I have new Raptor wheels with 315/70/17 BFGs.
I am looking to upgrade my shocks. I am between Fox, Bilstein and Rancho
I can get the Bilstein 5100s for $68 each shipped
Fox is $270
I have not priced the Rancho 7000 or 9000s.
I had an F250 with the 5100s and was happy with it. Would the Fox or Ranchos be a better option for this truck's current setup?

I'll give my $.02 as I cycled through 4 sets of shocks in 3 years on my truck in this sequence:
Stock
Halo Lifts BOSS
Stock
Bilstein 5100
Sway A Way 2.5"
Icon 2.0
At the time the truck wore 275/65/20 KO2s
In my opinion the Icon rode the best both on and off pavement. The Sway A Ways worked best over very choppy pavement where the shaft speeds increased and they were amazing off pavement. But they were very stiff on road. The Bilsteins were the best bang for the buck, as their ride quality was almost as good as the Icon, but for about half the price (or less).
In your situation, I'd do the 5100s and be done. You may benefit some from the Icons as your wheel and tire combo is a bit heavier than the stock setup.

I wont be do much off-roading other than occasional trails to and from cottages and camping.
The Fox shocks are not the piggyback style, they are these:
FOX 2.0 Performance Series F-150 IFP shock - Rear 985-24-029 (09-17 2WD/4WD, Excluding Raptor) - Free Shipping
I was mainly wondering if they were worth the money over the 5100s
The main thing that I notice on the truck (which has gotten worse with the 315s) is the rear axle not being controlled well with the stock shocks. It will hit a pothole or bump and take a bit to ride smooth again. I know this is mainly due to the added weight of the wheel and tire combo.

Just my .02 here,
but why cross your fingers hoping the shocks/struts you order, will ride the way that "you" want them too
Order a set of Rancho RS9000XL's & dial them in to "your" liking

I have them on my current 2013 F150 & had them on my previous 2006 F250 Diesel
