I think that's way too much. Causes vibration and wear on the seal and bushing. Don't recall the rule of thumb but something like an inch should be enough. You can look at the wear on the slip joint to see how much extra you have.

its the stock driveshaft with this truck, only that changed was i swapped in a 390 with a c6 auto, it had a 400 with a c6 auto.
there shouldn't be any length differences, but i'm concerned. it looks like it's not long enough
