By all accounts, the Ford grease is the one to use and most other greases will not last very long. However, I am having GREAT luck (at least 5-6 years) with brake grease with PTFE. PTFE is whats in the Ford grease and possibly the additive that makes it a great spline grease. Mine was CRC brand that I purchased at Advanced, but it seems the last time I looked, it didn't say anything about PTFE, but I will bet anything that keeps slide pins from sticking would do well as a spline grease.

I used that spray lubricant for camper slideout mechanisms once. Seemed to work just as good as anything else.

On my u-joints there was LokTite and one screws was way to tight. I'm lucky that nothing broke other than an adapter. What is the torque spec for those bolts. My grease and has an ETA of Wed. This is a 30min Job guys
