My local tire guy is offering me $400 for my factory Michelins to put towards an AT set. Now we both realize the tires are worth far more than that but not sure I want to deal with the hassle of CL to sell them myself.
So my question is... Has anyone else done this and what were the tire retailers offering you for trade in? Also if anyone did sell them on their own what did you get? These will be <20 mile tires as ill drive right from the dealership to the tire retailer.
Thanks
Incase anyone is interested Im going with Cooper Discoverer AT/3's in 285/75r18 and keeping my factory wheels.
Ive seen them going online "Craigslist" for about $800 so $400 more may be worth the hassle of selling them. To me I would post them and try to sell them myself.

I tried CL for a long time to sell my 18" Continentals; ended up getting $300.00 at a yard sale. After what I went through, I recommend taking the offer.
I was offered the same ($400) for my Michelin take offs. I've done the sell tires on CL thing before. Wasnt worth my time again. Sold them to the tire place and got new tires on the way home.
100 bucks each is what my tire guy gave me as well. You could probably sell them else where for more, but then you have to haul them around and sell them.
It was easy for me to just do it at the point of sale on my new tires. Done and done.
I got $600 for my stock 275/70R18's. It was a hassle though and if I had to do it again in your shoes I would just take the $400 and be on your merry way.
I got $700 for my 20" Michelins on CL but i gotta say the phone didn't ring off the hook. I was asking 800 and it took me 3 or 4 weeks to get a buyer. I didn't need the money and they weren't in my way so I was being stubborn and patient. I had one guy who kept offering me 600 and I told him no 2 or 3 times. Like I said I just didn't care and it worked out. For anything less than the 700 you may as well take the 400 and be done with it.
