I had a 2 stroke machine that burned mixed gas at 40:1. If I put 5 gallons or about 15% of a full tank per tank of fuel of the mixed gas, what kind of damage can I do? I need to do my spark plugs anyways, so fouling them will not be much of a concern. Can it do damage to my O2 sensor or Catalytic converter? Thee truck is not under any warrantee.
I really don't think it'll be a problem if you add some 40:1 like you say. At the end of mowing season I use my 40:1 a little at a time in mowers and tractors just to get rid of it and over the past 20 yrs or so I've yet to see any detrimental effects but they don't have O2 sensors or catalytic converters. My vote is go for it.
As the others said it's going to be so diluted you would probably be fine. If it were me I would burn it in my lawn mower before I burned it in my vehicle though.
Problem is, it is 15 gallons. I might use 2 gallons a season in my lawnmower.
Do you live in an area where you are allowed to do controlled burns? I live in the county outside of Oklahoma City, OK and I was able to get rid of some old 2 cycle fuel by dousing some brush with it and lighting it on fire!
I do use it in my wife's '08 Accord at about a gallon/fillup. If we didn't have that car, I would use the same process with my truck. Due to the nature of the work being performed, just make sure the nozzle and contents are clean.
How did you end up with 15 gallons that you don't need? I mix up 5 gallons at a time and it lasts easily into snow season or vice versa. Commercial guys go through a lot.
Run a gallon or two per tank if you're paranoid. It won't hurt a thing.

i hear tell of people double and tripple dosing gasoline with stabil or stabil marine fuel stabilizer and keeping it fresh for 2 years or so. not sure if that's an option for you or not.

Very cool Rob. I'm in Logan county just N of Edmond.
BTW, do you attend the show & shine the first Saturday of the month at NorthPark Mall on May Ave.? I plan on attending with my new Ford truck (whichever one I buy) instead of my Oldsmobile on July the 8th. Hopefully I get a chance to meet you and see the Pooperduty.

Oh yeah!
I'll look for you. I still don't know what truck I'll have. I'm going to look at one this weekend. I'll post pics when my account clears the 10 day waiting period.

10 cents a litre cheaper, or about 50 cents a gallon cheaper in the location I was.
This would have been burned on 2 weekends with my ATV. It is dead and now gone and replaced with one that uses straight gas.
I might keep a gallon or so for starting campfires.
