questions after installing my first Napa Gold 6637 giant air filter
Man, that thing is SO much bigger than in picture! first drive of 70 miles across southern MO gentle hill country, totally empty, no trailer. It does feel quite different. when I step on the pedal, boost gauge responds much more quickly. It also seems boost more than my smaller old afe filter. Even driving on pretty flat road at 75 mph, the boost stays at around 5 psi. it does over 10 psi going over 5% hills, again no trailer. this concerns me a little. Does this mean the engine control still gives the same amount of fuel, just more O2 and burns better and "hotter" or it gives more fuel because of the higher boost over the same terrain? I don't have a good understanding on how the control meters fuel to the engine. It might just be my imagination since it's not on a dyno.

^^^ What he said. Your numbers sound normal now that your truck breathes better. I'm at ~2psi on the freeway (flat, minimal wind) and goes up to ~10psi on hills (depending on speed). I have a 6% grade going east out of town and I hit ~12psi on cruise control at 65-70mph (unloaded).
