steering column differences
I'm assembling all the parts needed to do a CV/4.6 swap into my 72 F100. I'm going to be using the 7R40 out of the car. My truck is currently a 4 speed. What would be the easiest/best column to locate for the swap? I'll probably end up looking for something on ebay rather than going to a yard as I usually don't have the time to pull parts myself.

bmwcarl you need to watch the you tube video of hot rod garage. they swapped a 66 i think f-100 onto a crown vic. chassis. they used the stock tot column and a cable shifter from lokar. they used the cop car engine and trans. my head phones are going bad. i can,t tell when they say the part number that they used for the shifter . i would call lokar and ask them about it. good luck with your truck.

Thanks! I re-watched the video and think I'm getting closer. I guess I'm wondering if I need to find an automatic column now or if I can modify my manual transmission column to use the automatic transmission selector. I don't want a floor shift auto as I'm not a fan of how they look.
