Steering column swap

Can the steering column from a truck with auto trans be used in a truck with a manual trans? What adaptations would need to be made?

The swap would be from '89 F150 w/AOD to '90 F350 w/5sp. Both are Lariats (have cruise and tilt).

only thing you should need to do is remove the column shifter handle. the rest of the shift mechanism shouldn't interfer with anything. and you should be able to remove the cover around the column where the shifter was with the one you have on your stick shift column if you want to give it an original appearance instead of having a hole where the handle was. on older truck the handle was riveted in, not sure about yours, you may have to break out the drill to get it off, but shouldn't be big deal.
