Hard questions Curtis. Do we start to fall apart and start taking meds or do we take meds and fall apart. I take several meds and I would probably be in bad shape if I didn't take them. In my case, age predicated that I start taking them.
Yep, I agree with what you are saying, but I wonder if pharmacist are looking to cure the problem, or just to build a life long dependency on the pharmacy, by just getting someone just healthy enough to make it to the next prescription dosage.
There are lots of natural replacements for medicines out there, and my sister is of course proof of that. She was on 32 medicines a day which called for more and more medicines, and she was dying from the medications, but now she is only on 3 meds she looks great, she feels great, and her vitals are so much better. Unfortunately the natural replacements are very expensive, but if insurance would help pay for those, like the do the big pharma meds, they would be more affordable for the patient, and the patient would be healthier and live a longer life, which would in the end save the insurance company money.
I'm of the opinion that one should not take more meds than necessary and that some docs throw medications at people rather than finding the real problem. We also bear some responsibility as patients by wanting a pill rather than taking care of our health by watching what we eat and being active and living a healthy lifestyle.
Burgers are healthy. Hell, potato chips are healthy. Lots of minerals and vitamins in them things. There really isn't any "junk food" but there sure as hell is a junk diet.
I have been considering trying a period of "eat to live" vs "live to eat" where I research those items that are the healthiest for me, and eat only things like that for a week or month.
Even if I hate those items, just suffer through them for the sake of health.
don't know if I have the drive for that, but thought about it.
I asked my wife to pick up brussel sprouts from the store, she bought one small bag. I would have thought she would have been so excited that I wanted to eat vegetables, she would have brought home a full cart of it. So.. that was enough for one meal of 10 that I will eat this week.
