IF ANYONE can help me me i would greatly appreciate it!
I got a 2004 ford ranger auto 4by4 with the 4.0 and there is some wires that seem to have gotten pulled right out of the plug, their kinda down by the transmission i will take a photo of them and hopefully someone can tell me which color go to which color i wanna hard wire them to each other but the wiring colors are all different!!!
dont know what they are but any chiltons manual or haynes should have wire diagram to help. Almost look like wires for the tailights but they come from wrong area. Does trans work ok? Go to autozone.com and look there for the manuals I think they included wire diagrams. Also some of the alltrade data systems sell wire diagrams on a disc for about $10. Thats what I got when I put electric windows and stuff in my 94, the stuff was out of a 97.
Actually there is a post right before yours about a guy trying to get someone to take some pdf diagrams. See if you can find out if they are posted somewhere>
Im going to suggest the path of least resistance here. Take pics of that down to your local ford dealer. Ask for replacement/repair plugs/wire. I suspect you can buy both sides with each side having the plug and wire pigtail. Match wire color to wire color and patch it in. In the worst case, in the course of looking it up can tell you what it is for.
BTW, since one side is kinda intact, you can match wires from one side to where they are supposed to go on the other side. The wire color/stripe wont change from side to side of that plug.
THATS WHATS REALLY WEIRD IF YOU LOOK AT THE COLORS THEY ARE ALL FREAKING DIFFERENT IM BAFFLED ON WHY THE HELL THEY DID THIS!!!
I USE TO DO AVIONICS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPAIRS ON APACHE HELICOPTERS SO I DO KNOW HOW TO CHASE WIRES BUT WITHOUT DIAGRAMS ITS A BIT**
THERE IS 1 OUT OF 7 WIRES THAT are still there so i can only match them up, other than that i did try the chilton and haynes manuals and neither have the **** i need!!! if anyone else has an 04 4by4 that can crawl under and take a look and if the same crap is in that area that would be amazing to get which colors go to which color!!!
I looked at my truck and my manual and I THINK that your connector is C311. On that assumption, I uploaded that page to Photobucket. The manual isn't real clear on this connector location, but this looks like the one. If you need the color code definitions, let me know.
Ummm His connector is square, you are showing him a round connector.
The "square" part you see is the part where the wires enter the socket. The mating parts (the other end of the socket) are as depicted in the drawing and the number of wires is correct. I'm pretty sure C311 is the one.
