Had a pretty bad storm roll through back at the beginning of February. Strong winds ending up putting a tree on top of my 2016 Cougar the day after I got done de-winterizing it to take it to NC for a work trip. Filed a claim with my insurance company, National General, and the following day took the camper to Golden Gait Trailer in Concord, NC. After 4 long months, I finally got it back home today. Would have had it back home about 1 month sooner, but Keystone kept sending out the wrong parts from the factory. All in damages totaled around $22,000. I had very positive experiences with both the insurance company and the shop doing the work. Glad to have the rig back.

The camper was valued at $38,600 from a base price new at $43,500. The adjuster was going to total it if the cost exceeded $26,000. I personally am glad it was repaired since I would have had to eat the depreciated value difference and also the insane $2,500 Virginia sales tax I would have to pay again on a replacement unit. That would have put me about $7,500 in the hole on a camper that was barely a year old.
Shop has a 3 year warranty on their work, so no immediate worries there. Replacement roof trusses and structure came direct from the factory so its pretty much like new again. Rubber roof is an exact replacement from Keystone which carries the same 12 year warranty. In my opinion, the replacement roof looks more professionally done then the way it came from the factory. Roof has no bubbles, creases, or poorly done sealant anymore.
