That is the same as the Raptor engine. Looks like Ford is making Lincoln the "power" brand. The 2.7 Ecoboost in the MKX is rated at more horsepower than the 2.7 EB in the Edge Sport also, and can be had in the luxury trims...quite a good sleeper.
Amazing what Ford can do with the Navigator/Raptor 3.5 liter V6 (214 cubic inches)....over 2 horsepower per cubic inch on an engine that will last 150k miles or more and start on cold winter mornings.
That's interesting how Lincoln seems to be veering towards performance over pure luxury with the Navigator. When the new Continental came out, I read how Lincoln said they were keeping it less like BMW or Mercedes, which are performance-oriented brands.
The BMW X5 M, about the size of an Explorer I think, has 546 horsepower. And about 100 grand....
So Lincoln is not quite in *that* game but they are trying to compete specifically with the Escalade which outsells it like the Tahoe/Yukon outsell the Expy. If they try to sell Navigators for $80 grand <choke>, they have to be pretty well decked out.... The current Nav starts at $64k; the current Escalade starts at $76k and the 2018 Nav is supposed to end up close to that....
The Escalade 6.2 engine is rated at 420 hp and 460 lb ft of torque....so that is the target right there. And the Nav should be lighter with the aluminum body.
