Nissan 1000HP????
Is there a Nissan model car with 3.0L engine and can potentially generate 1000HP (off course aftermarket tuners etc)?
I came across this guy who claims to own a 3.0L Nissan that can generate 1000HP. It is kind of hard to believe but just wanted to verify.
Thanks,
VJ

Since that's over 5 hp/cubic inch, it would seem to be pretty extreme. Top Fuel dragsters make 8000 hp, but their engines only run about a 1000 revs between rebuilds.
For that power level, it would seem to require nitrous and some kind of blower. It would also require an engine that could take the stress.
I'd ask the guy for a dyno slip. How elese would he know what he's got?

About 1300hp without giggle gas...
We have made similar hp out of 1.3l rotaries...

Dan - you researched the GTR Nissan???
I don't mean to intrude, so to speak, but if there is ever a car that has the Quattro licked, it is the GTR. Quite possibly the most affordable supercar ever...

The standard GTR (280hp) does the Nürburgring lap in 7.58 - the similar powered S4 (265hp, similar weight) is about 45s a lap slower...

Just showed up to work so no time to watch the video.
The GTR in stock trim might handily show it's tailpipe to the stock Quattro, but if they both have 1000hp, then I think the all wheel drive of the Quattro will give it the edge.
Now if the Nissan is also all wheel drive then I concede your point.

Also the Toyota 2JZ-GTE (3.0 liter engine from the Toyota Supra turbo) has made over 1000HP with the stock bottom end.

Uses 3 active differentials, with a yaw and a steering angle sensor - it will direct the maximum torque to each wheel that can physically be transferred, while keeping the car relatively stable throughout cornering.
Its hard to describe how it operates - but from a seat of a pants point of view, its amazing.
Allows you to enter a corner - like a FWD car, trail-braking at the last minute, and on corner exit, - with the weight transfer to the rear under power it sends most of its power to the rear wheels, allowing you to drive the car on the throttle, like a well set out RWD car.
Also is the only car to keep active four wheel steering too...
And to further on the original posters question - is this the 3.0l V6 out of a 300ZX we are talking about, or a bored/stroked version of the 2.6 I6 we have been talking about?
