If the forward facing side is not convex or rounded (no photo shown), then yes, it will vibrate at higher speeds for the lack of aerodynamics. It will be a brick in the air. Hence the aftermarket creation of bolt on "V" deflectors for West Coast and Jr. West Coast mirrors.

This mirror was introduced in 1975. The mirror head was also available by itself.

If you use that mirror then you are "required" to hag two large Nuts off a chain at the rear of your truck.
