Steering column years interchange
Hi all. My 01 250 steering column is wore bad.Acually the shifter is what is sloopy from being a plow truck. Pullapart has an 06. Do they interchange ? Thanks. Jim

Just buy the Dorman shifter tube and rod kit from Rock auto.
The repair is easier than replacing the column, and cheaper too.
There are a couple of threads here detailing the process.
The trs is probably bad on your transmission case, increasing force required to change gears, and is what is causing the shifter rod issue. The pin holding the shift lever wallows out the hole on the aluminum shift tube, resulting in a sloppy shift lever.

1998 f150 steering column fit in a 1995 f250
I got a 1995 f250 I can start the truck with the key but I can not shut off the truck the key just spins back till it locks so you can pull the key out I have to pull a fuse to kill the truck I found a 1998 f150 that has a good steering column in it it look just like mine but I dont know if all the wires plugin the same

I seem to recall some utube videos on this, but they may not do it correctly.
look at your trs down on the side of the transmission. Mine seized up, and that’s what caused the problems up in the column.
the Torx screws holding the shift tube loosen too, causing slop. That may be all that’s wrong with yours.
the trs causes hard shift lever movement, excessive force application, and broken tubes.
