[QUOTE=TA455HO;17245193]Those holes are on all of our hoods - reason: still unknown afaik. It's been brought up before but I'm not going to try to search for it.
Hood latches on really big trucks.? We had a couple of F900 tractors in the bomb dump in Vietnam and I have a faint memory of them having more than one latch. But that was 50 years ago, so I could be wrong about that.
Yup, once you start to look at that big brute, you'll notice that the height of the rad means a normal center latch wouldn't work, so they have LH & RH latches.
The RH one is visible @ ~2:09 (latch is directly in front of the red stick being used to hold the hood up) & the LH one is visible @ ~2:27.
Next time I do a road trip up north to visit friends, I'll have to see if I can get some pics of a Superduty that's sitting near the bodyshop that's working on my buddy's Ute
Don't hold your breath though, I'm averaging less than once a year these days......
1961/66 F800/1100 & 1967/69 F800/1000 use a different hood than 1961/66 F100/750.
These F800/1100's use two hood latches.
I suspect that it is the same basic hood for all of them. I think they just added those three pieces on the bottom to get it to conform to those big fenders and radiator.
