Hi everyone! Been lurking and using this forum for information for quite some time. Finally joined it so I could ask a few questions of my own. I have a 93 f150 that I am fixing up. The bed is messed up so I want to replace it with a bed off an older truck that I got for free. The doner truck has dual tanks and I've been tossing around the idea of installing a second tank when I swapped the bed over. Has anyone ever done this? It has a blank spot on the dash for the switch and I have to pull the gauge cluster out for other issues any way. I want it to be like the factory setup that is in my 94.
Tank switching is done in the tank, with the fdm.
The pump pressure switches the valving in the module, to allow fuel to return to that tank, and pressure from one tank closes the valving in the other tank.
So tank wise, add the tank, hook both tanks together with a T, or use the donor fuel lines.
The switch on dash, you'll need to investigate. Not sure if the dash has the extra wiring or not. Pull it apart and compare both trucks.
