fuel tanks won`t switch ?
I own a 91 f-150 with dual tanks , I am running on the rear tank if I try switching to my front tank it just dies . We have checked the fuses they are all OK . All the lines coming out of both tanks are connected . Is there some kind tank switch or something mounted on frame anywhere or is it in the tank itself ? It is driving my Husband crazy any help would be apreciated ....... KIM:- X18

This is how it works, when you switch tanks, 12v is switched over to the tank that you selected, that pump starts up and the pressure that pump creates makes the dual tank valve "move over" to the lines that comes from that tank, blocking off the other lines from the other tank. So, either that tank is not getting 12v on the select, or the pump in that tank is bad, or the dual tank valve is stuck on the other tank mode.
