Besides a super charger kit...nothing. A tuner (when 5Star finally releases them) will improve drivability and shifting but really no extra power. I personally don't think these trucks are down on power. Whether it's 3600lbs of rock in the bed or my 9000lb camper, my 6.2 has pulled it effortlessly.
I own a 2017 Ford XL F250 Super Duty with 62L gas engine, 6.5' bed and 3.73 gears. What can I do to improve horse power using bolt on parts?
What are your operating conditions? For example, if you're heavily loaded, towing heavy, and/or operating in high ambient temperatures, you might want to try experimenting with higher AKI (octane) fuel. See OM page 184.
Since you have a new truck, give it some time to break in...I think your throttle response will improve with time/mileage, which will make you feel like it has more horsepower.
I remember back in the gas embargo days. if you added to many add-on fuel savers.. they reported gas would poor out the gas tank fill spout.. while driving down the road.
or the magic of magnets. 6 magnets attached to your fuel lines.. doubled your gas mileage.. (claimed)
I don't have any first hand experience with a 17 but my 13 DRW with 4.30 gears came alive after 5K miles and it's really responsive after I've been pulling it hard and long, when I unhook it from the trailer it's a different truck for a few miles until the computer turns it down a few notches. Remember it's not a street racer it's tuned and setup for durability not hole shot speed but a set of 4.30 gears would make it a different truck off the line and anywhere in between to the rpm limiter.
What's the budget? Gears will give you better feel like others have said. You can run into major $$$ real fast to gain HP. Tune will also improve throttle response and may add a few HP but not a lot. Supercharger will wake it up and is safe with a good tune and low boost, just don't get greedy without strengthening other parts. You will find your weakest component when you start building
