Running lights

I am prepping the cab for paint and I see this cab has holes in the top of the roof for five running lights. What puzzles me is that there are three small holes for screws but I do not see where the electrical connection wire would come from the lights down into the cab. It's almost as if the lights were for "show" and not for actual use. I am sure that this is not right.

Any comments or direction would be appreciated.

thanks

Genuine Ford roof marker (aka clearance) lamps: 3 holes in the roof per lamp. Front/rear holes for the screws, center hole for the wire to feed thru.

The lens has one hole approx. in the center, used for the screw that retains it to the lamp body.

I had a truck once with marker lights and the wire ran alongside the interior light and fuel sender wire down the front pillar.

The hole for the wire seemed a bit small but I am sure when I get the running lights it will become clear.
Thanks for both of your replies.
