Made a 395 mile round trip from home to Pigeon Forge, Tenn and back this weekend to attend the Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge car show. I always help a guy get one of his Pontiacs up there. Anywho, trailer and car were right at 10,000lbs. I went up there, drove around for the weekend, then returned home on one tank of fuel. 395 miles traveled, put 29.1 gallons in the truck with MTE reading 2. Very happy with that. Ended up at 13.6 MPGs for the tank. Truck is deleted.

Shoot that's better that my unloaded mileage. I'm getting around 11-12 pulling my empty 35+5 deckover but it weights 10k, just very little wind resistance
UGA, Is your delete a kit you bought or? Towing my 11k toy hauler I'm only getting 7 to 8 mpg towing, which makes me sick. I am seriously considering a delete. Can you please give us some details on it and any downsides from it to this point.
Thanks

Thats not bad at all. I'm seriously considering a delete, and this makes me more anxious for it.

As far as a kit goes, it's a 5" straight pipe from the downpipe back Flo-Pro exhaust and a No Limit EGR block off plate kit. Tuning is the same tune that everyone is currently running/offering. No one has been able to get into the PCM and do custom tuning yet. It will also be a while longer before we are able to have custom tuning flashed through the OBD port. There are a couple companies offering to bench flash your PCM for $1100+. Ill pass on that.
As for downsides, the trucks don't perform as good on the low end as they do stock. They are a bit laggy. When towing, I use manual mode because they do noticeably better. Torque converter lock up scheduling is better in manual mode. Guys are also having limp mode issues. It's random and hit or miss. Some guys have it figured out, some don't.
The positives are better mileage. Not way better, but I'm up 1.5-2 MPGs depending on driving habits and road conditions. Obviously, not having regens or having to add DEF is a plus also.
And Volkswagen paid $25 Billion for circumventing just the NOx portion of emissions.....what will you pay for circumventing ALL emissions?
I'm not sure 1 to 2 mpg is enough of a spread to make it worth it to fill the lungs of the drivers behind you with soot. This isn't the mid-1970s folks, when emissions actually choked the engine, or even previous Gen International engines which clogged up with soot. The 6.7 has been out now for 7 model years with no issues related to emissions.

Towing my boat ~3500 I see 17-18 back roads 55-60mph, and with the gooseneck at ~11000 I see 14-15 with speeds between 50-70. No delete and 3.31 rear, granted our hills around here are pretty much just speed bumps to most. Hauling an excavator for a friend that put me right around 13K gave me 12-13 for the trip at mostly highway speeds. Running around unloaded I stay in the 19-20 range as long as I am gentle with the go pedal from stops. Overall with almost 15K on the odometer lifetime mileage is right at 18.5
