C6 not shifting

I just rebuilt my c6 got it back in the truck and running won't shift on its own but I can manually shift between 1 and 2 I go back into drive it goes back to 1st any ideas of what I may have missed or put together wrong would help don't want to tear it all apart if I don't have to

Did the vacuum line get hooked up to the modulator? It will rev like crazy if it's not hooked up before it will shift.

Ya I got it hooked up and have good vacuum tried adjusting it no difference

did you torque the valve body when you put it on. there could be some valves sticking. could be the governor too. how well did you clean everything when rebuilding this. did you flush the cooler and lines and change the converter.

It came completely apart and was spotless going back together and all went back together with proper torque specs according to the book I got I also don't have the kick down hooked up yet I've read several other post saying it's not needed but It doesn't sound right
