c6 wont shift into 3rd

I bought a 1984 f-150 4x4, the transmission was bad it would slip and 3rd gear didn’t work so I rebuilt it and everything works great I put new everything in it new modulator and torque converter too. Everything works perfect the shifts are good and crisp and it shifts at the right time, but 3rd still doesn’t work 1, 2, and reverse work great but no 3rd, I thought maybe it was the valve body so I put a different valve body on it and still no 3rd, when it should shift into 3rd it just stays in 2nd. I tried adjusting the kick down and the modulator but still no luck, anyone have any ideas

check the vacuum line going to the mod.

its getting good vacuum, today I got it up to 70mph at over 5000rpm still no shift

take the truck down a road that has little traffic and put the truck in low gear,drive it up to 35mph then shift into drive and that may get the trash out of the valve body,this may take a couple of tries,but I have tried it and it worked I had a 85 licoln and it had a c6 I asked my friend who is a mechanic and he said to try what I told you to do and it really worked but I am making no promise it will work for you but what do you have to lose,right?,try it and let me know,please!!!
