Can someone enlighten me on what they earned the nickname "Fridge"?
First off , it is your truck do what you want to it. I highly recommend putting disc brakes on the front no matter what. More go without more woe is no good.

I prefer painted trucks and not rusty patina, but once again, your truck. A modern paint job will preserve that pristine cab well.

Fridge refers to the more boxy look of these trucks compared to their fat fendered predecessors.

I say they are only original once. A old truck all painted up is like a 60 year old woman getting a boob job and leaving the rest of her body saggy. It will look cheesy with any crusty original parts. And after it's all done, and you have twice as much into it as it's worth, now it looks like a 60 year old woman who's had a ton of cosmetic surgery, pretty but just not quite right.
Drastic color changes are something I rarely want to see. I like the combo but you don't and it's your truck. If you paint it a solid color and don't take the truck apart to get the back of the cab, firewall, door jams ect. it will look like a cheap paint job.
It seems the 2 tone primary color is usually the white with the color laid over it. Maybe keep a 2 tone and find an original color you like to go with the white and then it would be a lot less work and still look right.

Looks great!! Those cab corners have dents in them though so maybe you should cut them out and send them to me.......

If it were me, I would only put a power disc brake conversion and clean it up. Clean up the body and clear coat it. But I'm old and I like old looking things...

Now when I was 25, I'd totally molest it......

Finally getting started. It was a tough winter, so I am behind (like most). Just purchased my CV front clip and am getting started on installing it. Removed the old from axle last night and hope to have the new one installed this weekend. I was able to remove the old axle without cutting anything out, so I will be parting with original axle and 223 with trans if anyone is interested. I also have a spare tire mount I'll be letting go of as well.

took the front end off as one piece, it only took about 12 bolts to get it off, I've seen others install the CV front while leaving the front fenders on. I would not recommend that or recommend taking it apart in small pieces

I plan on dropping a 302 in it, still looking for transmission ideas, with a t-5 from an older Broncos work without too much fuss?

finally getting started!
