hi guys, i have a 2006 f250 6.0 and i get it shakes while in last gear, doesnt matter the speed and it gets worse if im going uphill and only stops if i give it enough gas to downshift
i have had this problem for a while and the only time it really when away is right after i changed the 2 batteries and the alternator (i also did an oil change at the same time) but it came back two weeks later
also for some reason the truck runs terrible on 15w-40 which i cant understand why since thats the oil that should be in there.
right now im running hot shots secret and john deere 15w-40 (got it for free or else i would use thinner 10w-30) to see if hotshots would fix the problem any ideas of what my problem could be? i dont have any codes when i plug in a scanner
Last time you changed the fuel filter? You said it is based on gear and not throttle position, right? If you floor it in a lower gear does it do the same thing or only in top gear?? Where is the shaking coming from? steering wheel, engine, under your seat, back of truck?
changed the fuel filter about 10k miles ago but it was doing it before and right after
it will only shake in highest gear and it shakes all the time, its a vibration felt in the whole truck, the intensity changes, the passengers feel it and it come through my steering wheel as well
also the shaking got worse since i did my oil change on sunday like i said the ruck doesnt run so well on 15w-40 but i got it for free and i put in hot shots secret at the same time to see if it would help before i was using 10w30 total rubia tir 7900 in my previous oil change
I was thinking the same thing but so far no reader has shown a misfire, I replaced an injector almost a year ago but it didn't make a difference, I was kind of thinking I'm having ficm issues since it ran great after swapping the two batteries and the alternator but it came back after two weeks, I checked the ficm with a volt meter and it seemed fine, is it possible that there is a very slight weakness with the ficm and it only works properly with new batteries that are at 100% but it has issues if they are slightly below?
Also I live in Montreal if there is anyone in my area or if anyone knows of a good place to go with a 6.0 for parts or labour
