That's good, Ken. One does sleep better in their own bed or recliner.
Hi Shaun.
Time for a trip to the transfer station, get gas in the SW and some for the mower.
Ain't that the truth!!! I startled my bed when I jumped into it!!! Transfer Station...remember when it used to be called the dump...and...had some grubby attendant running it and snagging the goodies???
EPA, DEC , etc. took away the fun spots. Took the kids on a dump run once, we ended up coming home with more stuff than we got rid of....did score 4 66 Ford Galaxie wheel covers once. In nice shape
No transfer stations for me George. If I need to take something out I just take it right to the landfill. Cant go to the homeowner area and drop stuff off. I have to empty trash out on the working face of the landfill.
When I was 15...I used to work for a guy who picked up trash for a local town...nothing was bagged...garbage reeking and wet...no recycling. Lots of treasures wound up buried under sand and dirt. Nasty work...but I got $10 cash for about 3 hours worth of work. Good money in 1969!!!
That t was Ken. In my area most people did not go to college because they could start out at the steel mill pushing a broom for 15 bucks an hour and move up there and have a career. Now the mill is gone.
That was one of the many things that closed the mill Ken. I have a few neighbors that are retired from the mill. Their biggest worry right now is if they will still have the pensions they worked years for. Or benefits as well. At one point the Sparrows Point mill and shipyard had 30,000 employees working there. They worked 3 shifts. so 10,000 people a shift. The community I live in would see traffic jams like you would see in Boston or DC 6 times a day. residents that didnt work at the mill would have to plan trips to the stores or other areas around the traffic.

That it is Ken. Luckily they still have medical coverage for now. But who knows when that might change from the pension system. My one neighbor worked down at the mill for about 30 years. He retired before they shut down as Bethlehem Steel.
