supercharging a 5.4 2V ?

Not looking to go power crazy. Just looking for better pulling power for my 99 250 SD. thinking about R&R engine/tranny w/new Ford remanufactured engine w/3/yr warranty & local rebuilt tranny. Say maybe 8psi max. Has anyone done it? If so, I'm interested type SC used & final outcome. Thanks.

Have you tried a tuner? May give you what you want with less hassle.

I put one in my 2006 5.4l and there is a definite improvement.

Do keep in mind that the OP has a 2V engine. You have a 3V engine. Very different animals when you start discussing tuners.

All kinds of info on this, just do a google search for:

supercharging / turbocharging a 5.4L 2v ford motor

Although IMO, it would probably just be cheaper to buy a truck with a bigger engine, if you're looking for a bump in HP and torque.

This may be easier ... Ford F-250 5.4L Turbo Upgrade | DrivingLine

Unless you can get the lower intake for a lightning or Harley Davidson f150 everything else you would need to do different brackets or plumbing for the intake. This has been done and is easier if you can get all the parts. Just have to change a pulley to get desired boost.

Either way your looking at $5k plus, You should also consider replacing the bottom end to forged internals while your at it. 5.4 Pro Modular IRON Short Block

You need to realize that the big difference you experience in your truck is mostly because of the drive by wire. All trucks before 05 had an actual cable you have mentions this a few times with threads regarding the older trucks. The biggest diffence on those wil be in the transmission. So unfourtely your experience doesn't really apply here. Not trying to be a jerk just trying to clear the air. . Op P.I. heads and gears 4.30's with stock size tires would be a very good option for you before going the forced induction route.
