Fiberglass truck parts

Just found this site for guys wanting to go to fiberglass body parts for our dentsides. Would be great for a pre runner or race truck to lighten things up or to prevent rust up north. Beds cabs tilt front ends doors and more. Here's the link http://www.usbody.com/Pages_Trucks/73-Ford.htm

That's a really cool idea for guys with a lot of hard-to-repair rust or other damage.

Although $6700 seems awful high to me for a replacement cab. But then again, to get a cab in perfect condition and that will never rust...

I have always wondered how much work it is to make their doors and cab fully useable. With the bed, I wondered if it has the ability to have a fully functioning tailgate.

With the price of a new diesel pickup these days you could get a pretty solid frame for these trucks, upgrade to a D70, D80, or factory disc 14 bolt in the rear, and even hunt down a front D60 for these trucks. Put a Cummins drive train in and have a full fiberglass body and still be at probably have the cost of a new diesel pickup.

There use to be a guy who ran one of these bodys at the local drag strip. It was an awesome truck, blown and injected boss 429 engine with a jerico trans. It was painted to look like Bob Glidens Ford motorsport T-bird. I haven't seen the truck for a couple years but not at the strip as often as I use to be since wrecking my drag car.
