A possible cause could be a failing coolant temperature sensor, or failing TFI module/Ignition coil.
Could you explain how/why a coolant temp sensor would affect the fuel delivery? I had issues with a hot restart, replaced mine, and all is good. I erroneously thought it was an ECM shutdown, but was informed the ECM does not have this capability. So, how does the coolant temp sensor fit into the equation? I'm not doubting one bit it does, I just want to know how it does. Thanks.

The coolant temperature directly controls temperature-related fueling. Cold engines need more fuel than hot engines.
