I have a 2017 KR, factory equipped with Nav, back up camera and hitch camera.
I would like to mount a camera at the back of my trailer. As equipped, is there a way I can transmit this image to my nav screen, just like the other cameras?
There is a Tow bundle and in the bundle gets you TPMS for the trailer and a wired signal back to the Nav screen from the fiver camera. You need to order a harness that replaces your fiver harness with a second plug for the camera at the in box connector. It then has to be programmed in the IDS by the dealer.
Just what he said
unless you want wireless camera then a separate receiver and monitor needed
is your trailer wired to front as in the pin box area then a cabled input would work to nav screen
My '16's backup camera went black with static lines through it this morning when backing into a parking space at work. I found this thread this morning and figured I'd post. I rarely use my parking brake.
So it's either the harness near the parking brake, connectivity at the camera itself or the camera is bad?
There is a separate option (part no) that is a wired back up camera and TPMS system for the trailer. I ordered this option but it can be separately bought at the parts counter. It has to be installed by the owner after delivery. And being a wired system is harder to install. I have not installed it yet...lol. This wire plugs in at bumper, you can purchase a relocation plug to enable you to plug it in the box for the fifth wheel. The advantage of the Ford system is that it will show on your Sync 3 screen as another camera. The disadvantage is cost and it is wired. But included in the package is the trailer tire pressure monitoring units and it can also be accessed on your productivity screen. I hope this helps.
IMO, A better option is to go with a wireless camera solution that can also monitor traffic behind while you drive... instead of only displaying on the screen when you are backing up.
I agree that a wireless camera is a good option but the question was....can I mount a camera that shows images on my nav screen. Just to remind you guys. I only wanted to answer his question because of course you can always mount a wireless camera with another screen on the dash and do it for less money.

I have the same issues on my 2018 with 1000 Miles , been to dealer now 3 times and they can’t figure out what’s causing the random pixelation issues on the touch screen while activating the cab high mounted camera .The back up camera works every time though?? ..They temporally replaced the cab high camera from another new truck on the lot and problem still exists, If anybody has any repair suggestions, please chime in !
