Dates and codes on Window Sticker

First off I want to apologize for the questions, I know I saw the answers on here a couple of months ago but I have searched and can't find them now (should have tagged them back then).

I got my Window Sticker and there are two dates and some codes at the bottom and top. Is there anywhere that explains what all of the codes mean?

Is build date the day it starts down the line, or is it the day it is supposed to be rolling off the line completed?

I have read a lot of posts discussing the order process, default timing, etc; maybe it should be a sticky at the top of the page.

Thanks for any info.

David

here is what I posted in another thread, hope it helps you...

As I posted above, Build happed 7-8 days following the W/S date. Following that outline (above/previous page of this post) you can determine when things happen.

Below are details about my window sticker to help you understand.

My W/S date is 4/19/2017 and I will highlight that date in all 3 snips. It was available for online viewing as of 4/20/2017 as the date in the white section shows.

This was the update after the truck was built, my build date was 4/26/2017 and the bottom date updated the next day.

I got another bottom date change that showed up the day after my truck was switched from CSX train to a BNSF train.

And I expect another date change when the truck is delivered, but that is speculation at this point...

here is the one I posted about the way/timing of how it works...

  • Order from dealer --> Ford getting and accepting the order = Varies mine was next day, but we knew the order pick-up was teh following day and why I went in when I did, other guys took weeks for the order to get picked up base on allotment allocation issues between that dealer and what they had in stock already.
  • Ford Accepting the Order --> VIN = Varies a little but normally under 2 weeks, some have seen in 5 days.
  • VIN --> Window Sticker = ??? This is the biggest unknown to us, as this is the period of time Ford is doing all the leg work to schedule, make sure parts and accessories for your build are available and so forth.
  • NOTE: Window sticker is normally available online the day after it is generated in the system.

"In Production" Status: (normally happens just after the Window Sticker becomes available)
  • Window Sticker --> Build date = 7-8 days depending on the time of day your truck enters the 23 hour build process, 2 days after "In Production it is getting body and paint, the paint dries for 2 days before the interior and everything else is installed and the truck attached to the chassis.
  • NOTE: The Build date is normally available online (ETIS and Cotus) the day after it is generated in the system.

"Awaiting Transport" Status:
  • Build date --> getting loaded for transit = 1-7 days, this varies if you have spray on bedliner (normally a day or 2 is needed for bedliner) or if you are waiting for more vehicles heading in the same direction as your train/convoy.

"In Transit" Status:
  • getting loaded for transit --> getting to the dealership = varies too much, but we found the Ford system assumes about 15 - 21 days (7 day window 2-3 weeks out) for this in the initial ETA they provide. So we can do some reverse math off the ETA to find build week, then subtract a little more to get an approximate W/S date.

So in other words, normally once you get the W/S, you know pretty much when things start happening, before the W/S it's an unknown waiting game.

John,

Thanks for the thorough response. I had read both of those posts previously but for some reason couldn't find them this morning.

John's data should be listed as a sticky on the forum.

Thanks again,
David

The date on the very bottom of my sticker changed twice this morning. I thought I was seeing things, but I took screen shots just to prove I'm not crazy at the moment.

The day my window sticker was viewable, it had a date of 5/18/2017 on the very bottom.

When I checked first thing this morning it had been updated to yesterdays date (sorry I mean today's date).. 5/25/2017

Now it's back to 5/18 again.

Looks like my truck may have been built yesterday. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. Maybe the spray in bed liner has something to do with the date games. I guess the bed line option adds a day or 2 to the 'build complete' date. Vin on mine is 1FT7W2B62HED85473 Cotus and ETIS weren't showing anything different as of this morning.
