leaking trans question
79 F250 - C6 transmission
hey guys, my transmission is leaking oil around the gasket and also from the linkage.
i want to drain the fluid and put a new gasket in, and replace the o ring for the linkage.
ive never done this before, and wondering if there's anything should know. and also if i should do anything else while it's open, like the filter?
any tips would be a huge help. CHEERS

Being as your dropping the pan....replace the filter before you put in fresh fluid.
Also what I did on mine was I drilled a hole in my pan (lowest point of the pan) and I installed a retrofit drain plug. This way you can drain the fluid (at least the vast majority of it) with out it going every where. Here is a link to one.
