Posted this over in the super duty forum and didn't get any real response thought I'd try you trustee folks.
Id like to add "construction warning lights" to my truck. Have a crew cab 8' box with a tool box contractor cap on the bed. Looking for something like you see road crews have, grill lights/roof bar(not huge)/and would need separate lights on the back of cap as it's a couple inches over cab height so a roof light won't be seen. Would like to activate with one of the upfitter switches.
Also, I thought about hijacking the auxillary wire on the trailer plug to put a couple flashers on the back of my equipment trailer.
One inside the windshield and one on the back of the shell. You could get one for the back of the trailer but not sure how you would get switched power to turn them on/off without running wire all the way back to the truck.
You could put the front ones in the side panels of the grill that way you
would not have to do anything to the center chrome.
Take a look at the lights that Whelen has and then go to Ebay to see if
you can find them used for less. Here is there link >>> Whelen Engineering Company, Inc.
Whelen is the go to for all sorts of lighting equipment.
