My uncle passed on to me my grandpas F-250 4X4 pickup. I have plans on restoring it. After some google searches I found out that it is a 62 or 63 "I think", that the engine is a 292 2bl carb, and that it was made in San Jose California. Any help on exact year, what the body, transmission, and axle code mean would be a great help. Also did they come from the factory with flat beds? I am assuming my grandpa fabricated this one, its been on the ranch its whole life.

73 = Salt Lake City UT Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
Your truck was available as a Cab & Chassis (no 'back of cab' equipment), or with Flareside & Styleside beds, or with factory installed flat and stake beds.
1957 and later factory flat/stake beds have F O R D embossed on the rear of the beds cross member.
1956 and earlier factory flat/stake beds have the Ford script embossed in this location.
