Great Moments in Overspending - '48 Panel Version

As I read it, he isn't asking (or likely expecting) $200k, that's just what his PO put into it. Want to bet he actually paid $50k or so for it? But he saw on one of those "flipper" shows how he could turn it around for a huge profit....

Not my style... Must have been a trailer queen/show car. But they are talented. I don't mine chops or pancakes. But I like it when they keep the original look... I don't like that the did away with the hood trim... And don't like the grill mods! Not me... I watched the video and they have a rear seat. But what good is it when you can't see out. The last thing is your asking big bucks and your not willing to spend less then $100 to put new hydrualic shocks on the rear hatch to make it open all the way.

Beings it was farmed out to build I can see the 200,000 tag. A chop on a panel is a difficult adventure and very hard to get the proportions right. There is a lot of work in that panel and the builder should be commended for it but I believe their market is small and a few price adjustments will be made. The pancake of the hood IMO has to much rake other than that it is a good chop IMO and stays barely within the mild custom look.

I can appreciate the work that went into it, but it's not my taste.
The add doesn't say what the asking price is, just the cost.
The YouTube link was broken, but a quick search pulled it up. Left Coast Classics put the link out May 21, 2015 and shows it sold. There is a link from there that has construction photos also.

I believe there will be numerous people really wanting this truck and will pay whatever the seller wants. Most of them will be late 20s but a few will be older gentlemen in their late 60s with 30 something girlfriends..........
Oh wait, I dozed off a minute and must have went off to "reality" TV land.

The Viper ACR is a beast. It is a race car and not a pleasure to drive on the road. But it is fast. A regular Viper Coupe is much more pleasant as long as you don't put your foot into it at the wrong time. I drove a non-ACR Viper Coupe round trip from Detroit to Philadelphia in heavy rain and had no problems despite the wide tires and crazy throttle response. Just kept it in higher gears in the heaviest rain.

Hey Duane, did you happen to see this one listed in Madison? For comparison to the original posted panel. $6500 At $6500 mine has to worth at least $20K.

Bob, the Madison truck seems to be about in the same condition as my truck was in 2012. I know that no one in my family valued it at anywhere near $6500. I've spent about $10K, and that's maybe pretty close its current value. After I get the painting done, I'm upping the insurance value to $12K. As you suggest, maybe I should go for $20K. LOL.

The tape seal for the back doors is a very stylish touch. Just like Jim's, this one looks to have plenty'o rust as the main adhesive holding the whole thing together.
The fact that it has rear doors still on the hinges is actually encouraging. Certainly a challenge to rehab and without any financial rewards when finished.
