It's all about the bottom line.They can't keep making things that no one will buy.It's poor business.Sure,you'll see a lot of talk online about how so many are loving manual trans and hating autos but those who are buying the vehicles new are talking with their wallets.The manual trans is a dinosaur.There are plenty of old trucks out there just waiting to be restored.Go get yourself a toy and have fun.

I've driven the '66 Chevy C-10 my grandpa bought brand new several times here in the hills of southwest Virginia, but never in a city or long interstate drive. I concede my idea may stem partially from lack of experience with that. That's why I threw it out there in the first place, I suppose.

My uncle owns it at present. He inherited it when my grandpa passed away in 1997, and has since done a full nut & bolt restoration on it. Looks absolutely gorgeous. All the years my grandpa was alive it was his old, beat up work truck, so nowadays seeing it restored to what it looked like originally is really special

City traffic, stop & go, hills - forget it! What's wrong column shift on a loooonnnng highway drive though? Drop it in 3rd and forget it. The 3.03 manual box btw, has got to be one of the most durable transmissions ever made. Just keep oil in it (any oil probably, something) and it won't die. I've been meaning to rebuild the one in my slick. Can't use 2nd as an engine brake on extreme hills, if the revs start to get up there it will pop out (synchros worn) People used to keep bungee cords or rope in their trucks to prevent the shifter from moving.
