I have a 1997 Ford f-150 that was involved in a small accident. The damage was to the front end.It is not bad but when i try to restar it will not.Somebody told me that it is the fuel reset switch. Can someone tell me where it is located
What you are looking for is called the "Inertia Switch". Sometimes they are on the passenger kickwall area, behind the brake/clutch assembly on the firewall, and sometimes even in the engine compartment. It should be alittle black box about 2"x3" and have a plug with two wires going into it and a red or white button on the top. Either press the button down, or pry it up with a screwdriver.
Let me ask you this, when you first turn the key to "on", do you hear the fuel pumps running? It should be an electrical whine for 10 seconds or so, and then it quits. If you do, the problem is not the inertia switch.
Welcome and hope this helps some. Let us know if you need more info.
