So I've been looking, maybe in the wrong places, but I cannot find anything on Forced Induction. I guess this can be a thread to start something on it. I've been trying to do some research on going either super, pro, or turbo on my 6.2l F-150 Platinum and I can't find much. When I search my engine, I get the Raptor, as expected and when I search '11 F-150, I get the coyote. I'm trying to find the benefits and drawbacks of each method, if anyone here has done it, and most importantly does anyone know if there's any system out there that isn't a $6200+ set up. I can only seem to find the stage 3 Roush supercharger system and I'm not trying to pay all that money for the name if there's a system out there just as good that I'm not paying an exorbitant amount for.
I don't see why the systems that fit the raptor wouldn't work on yours. They are the same motor. Turbo is going to cost you more as you are working on the hot and cold side of the motor where as with an S/C you are just working on the cold side. I haven't seen many kits less than 6k or 7k.
Yea not going to be cheap. I test drove a 2014 fx4 with 30,000km 6.2 rousch supercharger. Very fun to drive but they wanted more for it than I paid for a 2016 lariat. All i need is a raise at work and i'd buy one.

It'll definitely fit, that's not the issue. I was more wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper setup than the Roush. I don't wanna pay extra money just because it says Roush. I think that's rediculous. I'm willing to pay for a good product, but there's a point where you're paying just for the brand name.

I really think this 6.2 blown would be a crazy good time to drive! Plus pulling up next to some d-bag in his f body or 5th gen and smoking his *** in my pickup would make me thoroughly happy! On top of that, there's nothing quite like supercharger whine.
I agree with the supercharger being the most fun to drive, as well as carrying the most cool factor. A 6.2 with a blower would go like ape scat. My only concern would be that horrible day when something finally goes "BANG!". Still sounds like a lot of fun though, considering I just happen to have a 6.2.... Oops, gotta run, the wife is coming and I can't let her see this.
Roots supercharger - More instant torque, that sweet whine that you could listen to all day, cleaner engine bay, easier to perform maintenance, Less problematic, can be tuned with simple pulley swaps.
Centrifugal supercharger - Can make the most power gains, can sometimes cost less money for a kit.
Turbocharger - "Free" power since it's not driven off engine crank pulley, tons of tuning options, turbine sizes, etc. to play with, safer for the engine long term if tuned properly.

Understood, I also hate to just pay for a "name". Unfortunately, I don't think there are many systems less than what Roush is charging. Here are some Whipple and ProCharger units around the same price range: 2011-2014 F-150 6.2L Supercharger Kits
The only one in the 5k is the "tuner" kit, and that doesn't include everything that's needed:

Hopefully the proverbial "bang" won't be a thing. I'm not looking to force a rediculous amount of psi into an engine that's not built for it. I'm looking to start at a level that the engine/trans will be able to handle. The power is for my enjoyment and not to show off, although everyone knows that once it's there, it's hard to not show off from time to time. I get a lot of "why's" from my friends when I say I'm looking to blow it, cam it, ect. My answer is simple, because I can and I've not seen many trucks set up to crush in the 1/8, maybe the 1/4. I know they're out there, but I've not personally seen one.

So it would seem that, for longevity, the turbo is the way to go. Which is what I thought. My issue is turbo lag. Without a bump box or a turbo for my turbo so my turbo can spool, the initial lag is going to be tough to overcome.
What about a procharger? I don't really know much about them, only that they're more like a supercharger than a turbo. Unless I'm wrong.

That's what I was afraid of. Well, 6k seems to be the going rate. I appreciate the help fella. Now I just have to save for the blower. I've already ran the idea by the wife, she's good with it, as long as we blow her 5.0 lariat too. Lol!

"Just because" is one of my favorite and most used reasons for doing something. " 'Merica" is another!
As of yet, nothing. Life has a way of sneaking in and messing up the plans. I've moved to cali and the gas here is just too expensive. Were both getting rid of our trucks and going with cars that wont cost $120 every 2 weeks to fill. She's looking at something turbo from Ford and I'm looking at a '19 mustang gt.
