As of yet, nothing. Life has a way of sneaking in and messing up the plans. I've moved to cali and the gas here is just too expensive. Were both getting rid of our trucks and going with cars that wont cost $120 every 2 weeks to fill. She's looking at something turbo from Ford and I'm looking at a '19 mustang gt.
Welcome back!! I certainly understand the fuel dilemma in Cali. I was stationed in San Diego from '02-'04 and gas was creeping over $2.00 p/g then.

I was here from '10-'14 and now I'm back. In the summer of either '12 or '13 it was over $5! Now its 3.31 on Pendleton. My 6.2 is getting a solid 12.5 average mpg with a 32 gal tank and my 5.0 is at 19.5 average, also a 32 gal tank. That's anywhere from 3-4 tanks a month which is $400-$500. Fml!!!
No struggle there, do it! If you can afford it, do it!
i keep reading how the other types are “better” but to be honest, I tow only a few times a year, max of six and it is just a 6x12 with a sportsman 850 touring.

It seems our purposes for going with forced induction are different. I was going for my speed and not so much the towing. I would say for towing you want to go turbo because its free power anything belt driven will require power to make power and for towing you won't be maximizing your usage.
For anyone thinking of belt-driven forced induction - be sure to check if your system will play nice with the factory oil pump gear or if you should upgrade to billet.
Some are having issues with vibration / harmonics that can cause failure of the factory gears. Most of those are in mustangs and running against the limiter or 2-step.
Check out used Boosted F-150 on youtube - he destroyed his whipple charged 5.0. There is a tear down video showing the failure of oil pump:
