Anyone have dealings with TR? They had the best price on the the BF Goodrich all-terrain T/A KO tires I need, however I don't know what the local Big-O will charge for mounting and balancing and other fees.
Thanks.
I have had the best luck with Tire Rack. If you have an Amazon Prime account they have the same prices on Amazon but with free Prime shipping which is significant savings. They were very prompt because it was fulfilled through Amazon (2 days or less). Compare with local rates for additional mounting/balancing fees because a ocal shop might cut you a deal with those services included.
I bought tires for my old Focus. The price was good compared to local tire shops. They can setup an appointment to have them mounted and balanced, but I don't know how that works. I was able to mount them myself. I assume you could have them delivered to the installer, but I had mine delivered to me.
The prices are good at tire rack, the only problem going that route is missing out on deals that shops give for purchase mount and balance. If tire rack sets up mount and balance, I'd try that to see if there are any deals associated with that.
Ask TR (or anybody else) if they will supply the date code of the tires before they send them out. You don't really want three year old "new" tires at new tire prices.
