HELP! Changed LPOP WONT START
I changed the LPOP to a melling m208 because my reservoir was draining a lot. After installing according to the instructions, my truck will not start or build oil pressure. What did I do wrong??? It seemed really simple, pull fan, balancer, LPOP and install new one. Please someone respond and help me find where I went wrong.

Mellings are designed to be used in any orientation. On some gas engines, i would have to coat the oil pump in vaseline in order for it to start. Let the starter rest and try again. Make sure you didn't accidentally unplug the cps as well

we were able to get it running! We removed the melling m208 but this time we put the gears in the new cover and used a melling preassembly lube bought at orielly auto parts. I used half the bottle on the gears and inside the block through the slots. Reinstalled the pump with the gears in the cover and slide the cover and gears on the shaft at the same time. I put about 3/4 quart of oil in hpop reservoir and it fired right up. It was really rough idle, we had oil pressure but a lot of air in the lines. Once the air cleared all was good!
