I would say the top of the food chain is the OBDLink MX or LX because they are well built, reliable, and they power down when not in use (will not drain the battery). Only the MX comes in the WiFi version to talk to iOS. BAFX is good. BlueDriver is good and plays nice with iOS, but it's expensive and proprietary. Veepeak works on our trucks. Kiwi 3 looks to be a nice option with iOS.
I specify iOS because all OBDII adapters work with Android and PC... but iOS is really picky, so you have to read the fine print to make sure.
Whatever you get, make sure it specifies that it works with your device and with J1850 PWM protocol.

foul on the play, 20 yard penalty assessment, home team; need to pop the brakes here, while BlueDriver is good, it WILL NOT work with our trucks, I have one ant it does "brick" the truck every time I attempt to use it with the truck running, stationary it is hit and miss, unit is only 1 or so years old

Good catch - thank you. BlueDriver is a good product with great support - and they are quick to admit on their website that they cannot do the 7.3L.

your welcome most fruit based devices (like BlueDriver) seem to be non ELM327 compliant, so far the OBDLink MX and the LX are the only units that are fruit compatible, (wifi only at this time)
